As a kid, my grandmother had these amazing encyclopedias called Man, Myth and Magic from the '70s. They were stored in a side table in her closed off living room, a space strictly off-limits to us kids, filled with her precious Chinese antique furniture. But even at five years old, unable to read "big people words," something told me there was stuff in there of interest to me. It was an undeniable pull, a gut feeling that defied logic.

That intuitive spark ignited my curiosity. I just had to get in there. Breaking the rule, I'd sneak in and spend hours on the floor, flipping through the pages of those books. I couldn't understand the text, but the images, the sheer presence of the knowledge, felt right. My grandmother eventually caught me, but instead of being mad, she simply smiled when she saw what had captured my attention. She'd often say to her friends, "Don't mind my grandson, he is fae touch." Looking back, she seemed to instinctively know about my innate sensitivity and the unexplainable connection I had to the unseen.
